The Abbey Resort & Spa to Host ‘Prancing Carousels’ Kick-off Event

FONTANA, WI – May 28, 2009 – The Abbey Resort & Spa will host a special kick-off event on Saturday,
June 6 at 6 p.m. for Prancing Carousels, an exquisite collection of carousel horses to be displayed
throughout Lake Geneva, WI this summer. This is the only opportunity to see all of the artwork in one
place before the steeds prance onto the streets of Lake Geneva.

Prancing Carousels, a fundraising effort of Special Methods in Learning Equine Skills, Inc. (SMILES),
features both life-size horses, complete with carousel pole, as well as tabletop sculptures. The equine
exhibition follows in the hoof prints of last year’s successful fundraising event which featured life-size
fiberglass colts transformed into colorfully creative works of art. The 2008 project, Horsing Around Town,
raised $168,000 for SMILES.

“We are very pleased to host ‘Come Prance With Me’ and allow guests the opportunity to see this one-of-akind
collection in one venue,” said David Lindelow, general manager of The Abbey Resort & AVANI Spa.

Celebrating 25 years of service to the community, SMILES serves as a therapeutic riding center for adults
and children with disabilities. Based in Darien, WI, the center serves upwards of 400 individuals per year
with the majority of participants residing in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
